APSA partners with DLSU
College of Educational Leadership and Management

The Asian Psychological Services and Assessment (APSA) has partnered with De La Salle University (DLSU) College of Educational Leadership and Management thru APSA’s educational program for principals, the Principals’ Institute.

The Principals’ Institute is a unique program for educational leaders, dedicated to improving the quality of education by honing educators’ skills in leadership, management, classroom instruction, and assessment. A 2-year program consisting of 3 phases, each phase is a 2-week live-in seminar workshop dedicated to learning updated technology in Curriculum Design and Instruction, Standards-Based Assessment, Educational Leadership and Supervision.

APSA Chairman and CEO Dr. Leticia Asuzano instituted the program in 2009 with a vision for schools to reach their apex of excellence through the effective leadership of their principals.

This year, the first phase of the Principals’ Institute held last May 13-25 at St. Paul Pasig is a 6 unit bridging course towards Doctoral degree program. Next year, the 2nd phase will constitute a 6 unit course on Educational Leadership and Management at DLSU. The culminating phase will be held at California State University where participants will be given opportunities to observe the current practices in teaching and school programs in the United States. Both an educational and cultural experience, participants will not only enrich their teaching and leadership skills, participants will also be able to observe classes, attend short courses on educational leadership with other Masteral and Doctoral students, exchange ideas and develop personal and professional relationships.
