Design
Around forty schools subscribing to the Standards-Based Assessment participated in the seminar- workshop on Making Standards Work and Understanding by Design, conducted by the Asian Psychological Services and Assessment last September 18-21, 2009 at the CSB Hotel International Conference Center. The first two days were devoted to the seminar on Making Standards Work. Ms. Teresa Canton conducted the seminar–workshop on Making Standards Work. Participants actively engaged in the workshops designed to create classroom assessments that accurately measure what the students should know and should be able to do.
On the last day, Mr. Rolly Remitar conducted the workshop on Understanding by Design. In this workshop, participants were trained to design instruction that promotes understanding and student engagement. The workshop also helped the participants to look at instructional design from a results orientation.
