Liceo del Verbo Divino implements APSA's Standards-Based Assessment(SBA)

True to its commitment in providing quality education and excellence grounded on Gospel values, Liceo del Verbo Divino, Inc. (LVD) takes a step further in assessing student performance through the utilization of APSA’s Standards-Based Assessment (SBA).

In 2021, LVD, one of the leading Catholic Educational institutions in Eastern Visayas partnered with APSA in implementing the SBA. The SBA is the latest assessment technology that addresses the needs of schools for quality assessment that will identify what students should know or what students should be able to do at a certain year level. The SBA objectively assesses students’ proficiency levels and pinpoints competencies of students and learning gaps which serve as bases for learning reinforcement or remediation.

Last April 20, 2023, APSA successfully administered the SBA in English, Math, and Science to LDV students from Grades 1-12, in collaboration with the school administrators, faculty, and guidance personnel. Results of the SBA not only provide objective feedback to the students but imparts as well relevant information to the teachers, subject area coordinators, school principal, parents, and other stakeholders for decision-making in terms of curriculum, instruction, competency-development programs, and capacity building. This is one of the relevant academic programs offered by LVD in order to produce globally competent and socially responsible graduates.
