Ateneo de Naga University utilizes APSA's SBA
Ateneo de Naga University (ADNU), a premier university in the country, upholds its commitment to provide quality education thru the implementation of the Standards-Based program in assessing student achievement.
For many years, ADNU has partnered with the Asian Psychological Services and Assessment, Inc. (APSA) in assessing student achievement thru APSA's Standards-Based Assessment (SBA). The SBA is the latest assessment technology that addresses the needs of the school for quality assessment that identifies what students should know or what students should be able to do at a certain year level. The SBA objectively assesses the proficiency level of students and pinpoints student competencies and learning gaps which serve as bases for learning reinforcement or remediation.
Results of the SBA not only provides objective feedback to the students but also provides relevant information to the teachers, subject area heads, and principals; parents, and other stakeholders for decision-making in terms of curriculum, instruction, competency development programs, and capacity building.
Last August 4 and 5, 2021, the online SBA was successfully conducted from Grade 7 to 10 students in collaboration with the school admin, teachers, and the support of parents. Using a state-of-the-art online testing platform, students were able to take their SBA in the comfort and safety of their homes. The pioneer and leader of Standards-Based Assessment, APSA, has conducted over a thousand online tests across the country and abroad since May 2020.
